    ND Transportation Facts Sheet
     

    Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute: research, education, and outreach center at North Dakota State University which is guided, in part, by an advisory council composed of representatives of various organizations, industries, and agencies affecting or affected by transportation.
     

    North Dakota Department of Transportation: The NDDOT’s Central Office is located on the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds in Bismarck and has eight District Offices across the state in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot, Valley City, and Williston. Annually, the Department processes over 1,000,000 vehicle registrations and serves over 500,000 licensed drivers at branch offices located across the state.

    NDDOT Handbook: The 2019 Transportation Handbook has been revised and divided into six main transportation categories including general information, finances, statistics, accomplishments, safety, and, other transportation information. Here you will find highlights about how the NDDOT does business and the many different ways we effectively meet the needs of the transportation industry.

     

    LoadPass Permits: a uniform system for the permitting of overweight and oversized loads on participating community roadways.

     

    Aviation Statistics:  North Dakota Aeronautics Commission (NDAC) compiles aviation-related statistics to help identify statewide trends and levels of activity.

    Aviation/Airport Pavement Conditions: Pavement represents the state’s largest investment for airport infrastructure. Therefore, being able to maintain pavement at a high level for an 

    extended period of time is very important. Every three years, the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission works to update the pavement condition index (PCI) at the paved public airports within the state.
